The One Thing
What is the one thing – that if you solved it – would make everything else easier or even unnecessary?
That was a question asked me by my business coach, Mark Keene, several years ago. And it has haunted me ever since.
In different seasons of life. In different areas of life. The answer changes.
Maybe fixing your relationship with a parent would be life changing.
Maybe addressing a health issue that you’ve been neglecting would change your future and lifestyle.
But if you’re a business leader, maybe fixing a revenue issue would change your business, allow you to grow and scale, and hire more people…and allow you to serve more people and do more good.
If that latter is you, I invite you to sit quietly (without distractions) and ask yourself, If I could fix our revenue bottleneck, what would that look like?
And what changes would have to be made that would solve our revenue issues?
Is it a lack of leads?
Is it a challenge closing leads?
Is it a problem with messaging?
Are we talking to the right people?
Are we talking to enough people?
Are we working our people too inefficiently?
Do we have systems in place to streamline our processes? (People vs. Process)
Whatever that looks like for you, now is the best time to ask and honestly address those questions.
So I ask again,
What is the one thing – that if you solved it – would make everything else easier or even unnecessary?
