PointsIn our “action packed” society, intentional thinking has become a highly underrated & underused skill.  We do not think enough.  We’re too busy jumping between activities, distractions and we very often confuse activity for productivity.

Don’t believe me?  Take this challenge:  Pick a problem, issue, or idea that you would like to solve or develop and sit down with the intention of thinking about it.  How long can you go?  An hour, 15 minutes, 5 minutes?
(What’s funny is that as I started to write this, within 30 seconds, someone came into my office and interrupted my thought.  That didn’t take long!)

Napoleon Hill is famous for having said, ”Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”  But he also said, “Any ideas, plan, or purpose may be placed in the mind through repetition of thought.”

“Thoughts are things,” and powerful things at that, when they are mixed with definiteness of purpose, persistence, and a burning desire…” Napoleon Hill

When was the last time you sat down and thought…I mean, REALLY thought?

What would you like to solve? Want more leads?  Need to overcome an objection you’re getting?  Need to come up with a business solution?  THINK about it.

Try it.  Pick a topic or challenge or problem you want to flush out and take time this week to turn off distractions and THINK INTENTIONALLY.  Don’t allow disruptions or distractions to interrupt your focus.  Keep a notebook handy because you’ll come up with ideas and thoughts.

I can personally attest to this strategy.  I’ve been quite surprised on multiple occasions at the solutions and ideas that come when I’ve practiced intentional thinking.  I should do it more often!  Won’t you join me?

“See you” next time!
